From The Desk Of A Trader
After more than 26 years, Friday is my last day at Cargill.
After such a long period I believe it is justified to share some experiences and observations from a great period in my life working at Cargill.
Yesterday I wrote my farewell mail, and I share it here for my network.
As always, I have in mind young talents interested in Cargill and #trading, poking the higher echelons;
"What are some of the things I enjoyed the most and I am Cargill thankful for?"
"COP, the legendary corporate orientation program. One week grain school in Minneapolis and two weeks traveling across the US visiting Cargill locations, with a smoking credit card. It was insane, and one of the best things I have done in my life. I wish it would come back for any trainee starting in Cargill"
And as always I end with a comment which intends to making you think, and reflect upon your own situation;
"I kept all my yearly planners, a nice reflection of how 26 years in Cargill look like. Not sure you can see it, but my daughter “painted” a smiley in the dust of the right screen during Covid. I never cleaned it since, as I thought it was a nice metaphor and reminder of the importance of family and being happy in your #job".
